Presented below are some of my classical and experimental works. You may listen to them on this page or download them by right-/option- clicking the title.
In Between Night and Day
A work for MOOG synthesizer (boy, it sounds good) and processed trumpet. I always liked this one (from 1993). Here it is, newly remastered. 4:29.
Burnt Norton
For a quartet of speech synthesizers. Composed and premiered in 1991. Featuring the speech synthesis of the beloved Mac SE and the
earliest DigiDesign hardware around. Boy, I loved SoundDesigner and TurboSynth when they first came out! A lot of this piece is devoted
to exploring the phrasings of the speech synthesizer, particularly when the phrases (from Finnegan's Wake and Eliot's Four Quartets)
are typed backwards and into things that would be impossible for a human to pronounce.
Mosaic
A collage of electronic and sampled sounds collected around a reading from Satie's diary. From the EMS9700 CD waveFORMation.
We Sleep Before Dawn
A midi-based improvisation I put together back in 1995. I recorded MIDI strings, drones, and a solo oboe each in one
pass, building the song up with no real plan other than to improvise as I went along. I’ve always thought it had some nice moments. I was probably inspired by
Peter Gabriel’s soundtrack to The Last Temptation of Christ.
